A national hackathon serving the health of young people
From 20 to 22 May 2026, the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fès hosted the 4th national edition of the Digi-Hackathon Mobile Health, organized in partnership with the Population Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and with the support of UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund).
The event brought together complementary profiles — health professionals, engineers, developers, designers and young entrepreneurs — around two major public-health challenges:
- The mental health of adolescents and young people
- The prevention of psychoactive substance use
An intensive, prototyping-focused format
For three days, around thirty participants spread across some ten projects worked on the design and development of innovative mobile solutions addressing the identified challenges. The hackathon format, guided by mentors and industry experts, made it possible to move quickly from idea to functional prototype.
The solutions developed integrate digital approaches tailored to the target audience: mobile awareness applications, early-screening tools, listening and prevention platforms, and personalized follow-up solutions.
A strong institutional anchoring
The Digi-Hackathon Mobile Health is part of the continuity of a national program supported by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The UEMF, through the Euromed Innovation Center, handles the logistical organization, the technical supervision and the networking of participants with the digital-health ecosystem.
This 4th edition confirms the UEMF's role as a place of convergence between technological innovation and societal challenges, and the EIC's role as a catalyst for impactful projects in the field of e-health.
